2015
A first chance at new lungs
Hailey received her first double-lung transplant. Recovery was demanding, including rehabilitation and learning to walk again. That hard work helped open the door to the milestones and adventures that followed.
DECEMBER 2016
Reaching the summit of Enchanted Rock
After everything it took to recover from her first transplant, Hailey climbed to the summit of Enchanted Rock. Standing at the top was more than finishing a hike. It was a moment of strength, determination, and being able to go out into the world and live.
AFTER HER FIRST TRANSPLANT
Finishing college. Earning her degree.
Hailey also went on to finish college and earn her degree. It took commitment and perseverance, and it stands as another milestone in a life that kept moving forward after transplant.
2024
When the road became harder again
In 2024, Hailey began dialysis and faced serious challenges with her transplanted lungs. Hospital stays and changing routines became part of everyday life. Through it all, her family and friends kept showing up.
2025–2026
Doing the work for another chance
Preparing for another transplant meant evaluations, nutrition goals, building strength, and difficult days. There were no guarantees. Hailey and her care team kept working toward the possibility of new lungs and a kidney.
OCTOBER 2026
The call everyone had prayed for
A donor offer made a second double-lung transplant and a kidney transplant possible. Both surgeries were completed. The early recovery has included hopeful signs as well as serious setbacks. This chapter is still unfolding, one day at a time.
THE LIFE BETWEEN THE MILESTONES
There was always more to the story.
Book club with friends once a month. Beach days. Family dinners. Adventures big and small. These aren't side notes to Hailey's journey—they're the very things that make it hers.
